Just had a search through the forums but cant find any information on oil pressure.

When starting the engine, does the gauge take a couple of seconds to "initalise" as mine seems to after about 2-3 seconds after the car has started?

I get in the car, press and hold the start button, engine fires, within 2-3 seconds the gauge rises to ~ 60psi (pressure is fine). Just curious about the delay, is it the gauge being slow to read or oil pressure not builing up quickly enough? Now something that i have noticed before tbh.

Mine goes to 60 almost straight after starting. Perhaps yours is just sticking a tiny bit, then releasing?

Seems like it. Pressures are fine, just the gauge takes a few seconds to start registering

It takes 1 or 2 seconds as the oil from the pump has to send the oil up the pipe, through the filter and round into the engine block, the pressure guage take off being in the bottom of the V between the heads at the back of the engine, so a 2 second delay quite normal IMHO.

Super thank you, i think allied with the cooler weather recently it may take just that bit longer to read.
