Bit worrying though £8K with no gaurantee when it blows up.

Think I would rather go with less power and buy from American Speed

Hate to burst the bubble but you do not get a guarentee from AS unless you are in the US anyhow..... and I spent more than that with them!

(or you didn't whe I bought mine!)

Mine is still 110% though

Didn't burst my bubble, I didn't buy one from AS either.

Just assumed you would, But then if no one has had a problem with AS (And they seem to sell many for the Ultima) then that is gaurantee enough.

p.s. Andy I was hoping to buy one of your engines off you, but you could not release until you sold. So bought a s/h zz4.

Actually... Yes,
I stripped my engine at 3000miles for a full inspection and it was as new.....
I'm actually a very happy customer of AS.

The Engine has to go, as I have not sold my car, so one or the other is going to be sold, and yes it is a Small block, I forgot to put that in the advert.
As for it going bang a $2000 Callies crank and $1200 rods and $550 JE Pistons are the best components available, I don't think you will find these parts in your standard American Speed engine. Oh yes and how many crank failures have they had so Far ????

Sorry I'm not feeling that chilled out and am a bit jumpy.

I did catch the joke but didn't want to give the impression I was running AS down.... I've been very happy with my engine.

Anyhow given clives response do you not get my original joke!
Well I tried

Why's that then? If you have a good relationship with AS (bit like the factory) it's worth FAR more than a warranty anyway.

As I have found.

Don't want to hijack this thread - but I thought you would be interested in looking at this as well:

Had a look around there and found everything bar the price.

Looks nice apart from those horable Exhaust manifolds. They look more restrictive than any system Ive ever seen. Including the 70's Stock smog items.

It's 38000 dollars, so about 25k in GBP - by the time you add import duty and all sorts of other costs I bet it is a good 30k GBP.

Their twin turbo bolt on kits are better value at about 5500 dollars, so about 3.5k GBP.

Can you just bolt that onto a zz4 engine without any engine mods.

Seems a bit easy, will the standard zz4 chevy take the strain.

I emailed them requesting costs but like so many companies they never respond to emails

Not sure. I guess there is a lot more to 800bhp than just strapping their 5500 dollar kit on. That must be where the other 33k goes... that bottom end must be as strong as an ox.

I got prices and details from www.therevshop.com who aren't afraid to scare us poor punters (38k USD is small change to us lot, surely?)
