Hi all

I'm currently considering replacing my 15" with 16"s at the front on my R reg griff.

Has anybody here know of or had experience of running 16"s at the front.

Any information will be greatfully appreciated

regards

John

It's what the SE's run (16" all round ex factory) so I can't imagine any great problems.

Yep that's right

Just had a reply from Neill Anderson @ TVR. He did comment that the inside wheel may just rub slightly on the wishbones so a rack stop might have to be fitted. This he said may depend on your spec. ride heights etc

We also plan to install Nitrons (Racing Green do a good deal) in the next couple of months, along with a brake upgrade from Godspeed.

Can you tell me more about that please? Last time I spoke to RG they were still suggesting Ohlins. But that was 10 months ago. Rich...

I have Nitrons and 16 inch wheels all round (on a Chimaera...sorry) what a difference it made, car feels much more responsive. and on a lesser note it looks much better too

Rich

RG will supply the Nitrons, fit and setup for approx £1300 (and thats including VAT). It's well worth them setting it all up cos they've got a pretty good setup, up there as you'll probably know.

They can also supply the Ohlins as well but your looking at £2000+. They say Nitrons do 85, 90% of what the Ohlins do.

Hope that helps

Mark (or anyone)...do you run the same size tyres on the front - i.e. 225/50/16?

Nope 225/45/16

55's WILL rub on the battery box (inner wheel arch L/H/S).

55 is tuscan fit anyway...

griff rims run 225/45/16 front
245/45/16 rear

i have all of the above
you'll ned mor camber fr 16" rims if you track the car.

cheers
andy

by the way Nitrons are fine for road / track.
Ohlins are the best and you should fit them if you can afford them. Nitrons are a close second. while yor at it make sure you ge the GAS rose joint Nitrons and replace bushes for polys...you'll be AMAZED at the difference...i was

Peninsula do a great job on nitrons and have several set ups for road to fast track. they'll also set up at the track if required...excellent!
