Have had the front two air suspension units go on my X5 4.8is and gone into a BMW specialist rather than main dealer as its 5 year service and maintenance pack has just expired - sod's law!

Quote for replacing these (as they have both split) plus replacing a CV joint attached to drive shaft (have no idea what this is!) is £1,408 inc parts labour and VAT.

Is this reasonable. Apparently parts are £478 for each unit so not much can be done on overall price and parts only available from BMW rather than non official......

Any thoughts much appreciated as need to authorise the work asap..........

Seems damn expensive.

Have you shopped around for quotes? You could try some other local specialists to check this is reasonable.

Good luck and awesome motor

Fitted a pair of cv joints and 1 bellows last week for £425 ish so i'd say a pair of bellows and 1 joint will be around £600 give or take a few shillings
