06 cooper chilli drivers seat

The drivers seat in my cooper chilli won't adjust for hieght anymore it just seems to have jammed. It will rise easy enough just can't get it back down again Any ideas on a self fix or anyone else have this problem

Its a seat out job, But on my old cooper it was a plastic peice that snapped just under the base.

For the hasstle and price of getting it repaired, Your aswell buying a full second hand seat or upgrading to half leather or full leather.
