Ferrari California
Discussion
Was in maranello two months back. Talking to a friend of mine Stefano who owns the "Warm up" ferrari shop opposite the galleria. He and his staff hated the California and thought it was a mistake in ferraris modern history.
Then when i was at the Galleria i had the chance to look around the car in detail. I was on my hands and knees looking at what i thought was going to be ground FX. To my surprise there was none, only all the pipes and parts exposed on the underside. But yet it still has a rear diffuser WTF. I asked one of the museum guides why no ground FX. I was told the California was not designed for supercar handling. Strange thing to say IMO
I dont think Luca di Montezemolo did the California any favours when he declared it a car for the ladies.
The first time i saw the California on the road i saw it coming in the opposite direction. I had to look very carefully because i thought it was some kind of Toyota celica convertible. It did not shout out to me the way most other Ferraris do.

Now don't get me wrong, I love this car, but I was amused by a comment from my wife when she saw one driving away from Dick Lovett.
"Is that the new Peugeot?"
But actually, from the front, there is a likeness maybe?
She does have a point!!!"Is that the new Peugeot?"
