Hiya

2006 Cooper S and the front right indicator/side light unit glass has been cracked (by a stone I guess).

The pic attached shows the unit I refer to (albeit that its the other side) circled in yellow.

Was gonna try and buy the unit and fit it myself - is it an trickey job best left to Mini service people you think? What should I ask for when buying the new part (thinkin if they are expensive I might get it on ebay or the net cheaper?)

Any direction (even general) appreciated.

Thanks
Rónán

they are quite easy to replace, its easier if you can get the front bumper off tbh - there are only 3 screws to undo on the unit and then the connector for the light. I replaced mine on my 2006 Cooper S Checkmate with some halo style ones - managed to do it without getting the bumper off, but you need small hands to get in the gap and if you drop a screw or screwdriver down into the bumper, it'll have to come off anyway! if you remove the bumper, you need to remember to unclip the temperature sensor too - if you need more info on how to take the bumper off, come over to totalmini.com and post up on there, someone should be able to explain it better than me! smile

heres my Checkmate with the halos

I just replaced one of mine, the part is about £20 from BMW. Replacement is easy, just take the front bumper off and you can then unscrew the unit.

As they say it is fairly easy.

I did it without removing the bumper with a stubby screwdriver and I have big hands. I replaced mine with halo style clear lenses as well.
