We have a '55' registered Cooper and when cornering I can hear the sound of water sloshing around behind the dashboard. My guess is that it is condensate from the air conditioner, rather than rainwater, and that there is a blocked drainhole in the bulkhead area.

Can anyone tell me where the drain holes are so that I can ensure they are cleared?

Thanks.

its may be the coolant system and is normal, its more noticeable on cars with smaller pulleys. Mine has done it since new, sounds like a little water fall or moving water. Basically the car tends to have an air lock in that particular point

There are no drain holes or at least non I know of, there should be no water in the bulkhead

Thanks RKDE, that's put my mind at ease - I think I'll just ignore the sound, which shouldn't be too difficult as it's my wife's car smile

It is the coolant system. I've had several cars (different models) that have exhibited similar issues. Not a problem.
