Well the pet lovers have already started discussing how to avoid their pets stting all over the carpet in shear terror of the explosions!

So as a firework lover who else is looking forward to some top quality explosions?

I have purchased a large amount of fireworks ready for a friends party.

Who else is doing there own thing?

Or who else is planning on going to organised events?

God bless Guy Fawkes, maybe we could set some off under Westminster? Just Kidding GCHQ

Well last time my mate James was down there getting his intel. I think they can.

I could be confusing reality with 007.

Seriously though, they monitor all sorts of funny things.

I stopped getting excited about fireworks when I was about 13. My Springer Spaniel quite likes them though.

The thinking man lets other people spend the money and enjoys the show for free...

People pay £5 each to gain entry to the local fireworks display. We walk five minutes down the road just before it starts, stand on the bridge over the dual carriageway and get the best seats in the house for free.

Well as most of the people there will be either young, or have a low mental age I think it is down to me.

Obviously the fireworks are for them, not me.

I love this time of year, my house is high up on a hill so I can just camp out in the garden in the evenings and watch everyone elses displays. These days I'm under a self-imposed ban (after nearly becoming the first Welshman in space a few years ago when I decided to put away lots of G&T's before doing the fireworks displayhehe ) so I just go to the council event instead, which to be fair is spectacular.

Not so much fun now as the cat A stuff is banned and us numptys cant (legally) get hold of it. Used to have huge displays with loads of mortars, upto 8"..Make the ground tremble as they launch and some brill effects. But then some teacher was looking over a launch tube as it launched and that was the end of that. Nanny state banned us from having fun, bstrds !

I took my Bassethound to firework displays as he loved them. If they were outside he used to sit at the window and watch.

It always used to make me laugh when I drove past AWE A-site around this time of year. They always had a big sign up advertising their firework display.

I used to know a bloke at uni who went to work for "someone", "he can't talk about it, national security".
No loss though, he always was odd, having an excuse not to talk to him was quite nice.
