For anyone teetering on the brink... I finally got round to this. This is our family computer/tv/kitchen music player. It's 24".

Apple do a vesa adaptor http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC434ZM/A?mco=MT...

which I then mated to a Vogel arm http://www.vogels.com/web/Consumer/Products/Produc...

Very pleased with the result. £100 total. Vogel comes with all necessary wall fittings.

Brilliant. Looks awesome mate. Would love to put mine on the wall but to be honest I move it around a little.

Love that, busy trying to get my flatmate to buy the new 27" imac hehe Unfortunately we live in rented accomodation so wall mounting isn't an option but that looks awesome!

Cheers lads. I've got the mb pro for roaming. The 27" looks mega. Would certainly have bought that if it had been around.

With two toddlers and the benefit of the remote this sort of wall mount makes a lot of sense.

iPlayer for us because we don;t watch a lot of tele anyway but if you want anything else then the answer is eyeTV which also records http://www.elgato.com/ good kit...

Great - thanks, that's what the Apple store recommended too - thank you.

Problem is no wireless with numpad.

The small keyboard is horrid. You soon get bored of hitting shift rather than up arrow biggrin No page up/down etc.

Why can't Apple produce a wireless numpad keyboard?

It's fine - typing on one now.

Fair enough, I could never get on with it so use a numpad one. Apple should really release a wireless version....

I thought about an iMac for the kitchen (being a platform agnostic multiple Mac and PC user), but it always seemed to me that a touchscreen was the only sensible interface in the kitchen, so I bought an HP IQ515. Stupidly, HP doesn't make a VESA adapter for it (it does for the IQ800 series), but I found an enterprising firm in the US that does.

This HP has been one of my best technology purchases. It operates as TV, PVR (networked with two other PCs running Media Center and sharing all recorded TV), Ocado shopping screen and occasional browser, email checker and photo frame.

Touch screen didn't even occur to be honest, but otherwise... Exactly.

I also have a Bamboo tablet and a screen locking painting app that the children can use so it's even a drawing board as well!
