Wilkinson Sword garden tools guarantee
Discussion
I have a Wilkinson Sword garden spade and fork, both of which have broken. I am led to believe that there is a 10 year guarantee on these, I've had them probably 7 years. Has anyone had any experience of trying to get anything replaced from WS? Do I need a receipt (they were a gift!)?
Their website seems to be down, which isn't a great start.

Unless those who gifted the items to you have a credit card transaction receipt for the items, then you will require a retailer’s till receipt for the same, and the return/s should be directed first to the retail outlet where they were purchased from. Should the retailer no longer be trading or refuse to either replace, offer a credit voucher or a financial refund, then you should contact Wilkinson Sword direct.
How did the items get broken, is it wooden handles that have broken, and if so how did you achieve the same, using as a pick to remove tree roots, building blocks from clay soil?
As with any guarantee to perform the task for which they were designed for, including fair ware and tear, and not for wilful damage during misuse, resulting in negligence from failure to adhere to instructions for use.
As a former retailer, now retired thankfully, over the years I had to deal with many irate customers, attempting to return damaged goods under a guarantee, particularly garden spades and plastic garden containers, where the former was clearly being used as a leverage tool to remove tree stumps etc., or in the case of the latter to store hot ashes.
