More to the point what were the original spring rates for the cars when they left the factory
. I've heard anywhere from 250 to 500lbs, anyone know for sure.........as it does help in determining where to go, if you know from where it came, so to speak
.
still can't make me mind up, avo/nitron and what spring rates

I think I already told you this, but just in case I didn't: my V8S came with 210/300 front and 180/270 rear. I understand the V6 models tended to run stiffer though. AVO versus Nitron, you already know where I stand on this one!

I think you're probably right there Peter, memory was not one of my stroingest points, along with spelling, listening, reading, writing.....ah breathing always had that worked out
. No wonder it wollows, squats and dives a bit, never realised it was so soft.
Just need to get a quote next week for something else and I'm also seeing Mark on Tuesday (hopefully for the very last time, maybe
) then I'll know whether I can go the right route (nitrons) or the compromise route (avos). Standby Joolz I really hope that these are an DIY hour to change over

Why do u ask?
I had a set fitted about 3 years ago, over the last year the front has sagged alot and now the rear ride hights are becoming stightly uneven. Sagging is usually down to springs although 3 years is a bit quick for spring to compress. I'm not sure whether to take the cheap option and replace the springs, or the whole lot.

The bonnt opens.
I didn't know what hight the spring platforms should be.
About 6 months ago I tried to adjust them and could not undo the grub screw. At that stage I didn't want to get involved drilling the grub screw out. I hadn't realised that the locking pad was missing, the grub screw had seized and the platforms were loose on both front dampers. I thought the grub screw was just tight.
