Audi 1.6d Sportback 2009

A question I probably already know the answer to! Is the 1.6 diesel engine (a piddly 105bhp) as gutless as I suspect it would be in a Sportback.

Not driven this model but the 1.9d looks like it has similar output. That's ok. Not going to win you any races but more than able to keep up with traffic in all situations.

Its an all new common rail TDI engine to replace the ancient 1.9 TDI PD. In theory it should be no slower than the 1.9 TDI as it has identicle BHP and Torque outputs, but from the reviews I have seen of this engine in the Golf VI they have tuned it for economy rather than speed.

IMO the 2.0 TDI 140 CR is the one to have, or the 1.4 TFSI 125.

Cheers all. It wasn't something I was looking for, but I saw some pre-reg ones in sport trim for not to bad a price. I'll have to drive one and see how it feels to see if I could live with it long term.
