I need a new carpet - 3m x 4m.
Doesn't need to be too decent - its only for the spare room.
Obviosuly seen a few of these adverts - free fitting when you buy underlay etc.
Now the carpet is 5.99 /sq m. So not massivly expensive - but how much are they gonna try and sting me for the underlay?
How much should i expect to pay?
I have no idea.

I recently paid £2.99 per square metre for 10mm Duralay Airtred from Abby Carpets. Carpet Right will rob you of £7.99 for the same underlay.

look for a local seller of offcuts/end of rolls, they will sell underlay cheaper and you may well be able to get a much better carpet for the same money - I just bought a 2.3x3.3m wool twist carpet for 30 quid and it's really nice. At 3x4m you have a good chance of getting and end of a 4m wide roll....
B&Q sell threshold plates, underlay and gripper rod at reasonable prices. The likes of Carpet Right charge a pound a metre for gripper - it's 3 or 4 quid for 12 metres in Wilkos or B&Q!
