After selling 2 GTR's deciding to have a change, I just can't find an alternative to the Ultima, for looks, and performance, so therefore would like another one, but I have certain requirements, 05 upwards, Rear Wing, righthand / sill gear change, intrax shocks, air con, AP Breaks, stack dash (not imperative) detach steering wheel, doesn't have to be big BHP but don't want a tracked car, road use only, have cash waiting for right car, thanks Russell.
Hi Russ ...Ultima's seem to be a bit thin on the ground at the moment !! have you had a look at a Noble !! not as fast as a Ultima but a bit more easy to live with !!
this one looks good :

Hi Simon, I have looked at 430 spiders, 360 modena spider F1, 911 GT3 and to be honest nothing else out there, floats my boat as much as an Ultima, its the looks, maintenance, fettling and sound, the shape of the Ult is so much like the Porsch 917, Ferrari 512, etc, which just gives me wood everytime, (I know I should see a doctor about that!) just gota wait until the right one comes along, thanks for the suggestion though

have you heard of attention deficit disorder? LOL

"the co-existence of attentional problems and hyperactivity, with each behavior occurring infrequently alone. While symptoms may appear to be innocent and merely annoying nuisances to observers"

Hello there, another russell here considering an Ultima.
Russ, whats wrong with the red gtr with bhp in the classifieds? Are the asking silly money for it or something?
Also to the other ultima owners, have any of you had experience of a radical sr3 who could give me a bit of an idea how they compare?
Obviously the ultimas quicker in a straight line but are the gtrs much slower through the bends (if at all) on track?
Cheers russell

The one at BHP is a little rough around the edges IMO. it's a 1998 build, though probably sound underneath I'd not part with more than £30k.Russ, whats wrong with the red gtr with bhp in the classifieds? Are the asking silly money for it or something?

i would say there is no comparison between the 2 cars you mention, the radical is bike powered with high revs and very low weight and the Ultima is a Torque monster...... the Rad will destroy the Ultima into and round the bends but the Ult will reel it in on the straights.Russ, whats wrong with the red gtr with bhp in the classifieds? Same driver same track i think the Rad will be quicker but im sure someone else will have a different view
I think the Ultima would be quicker on most decent circuits like those used for internatonal race series (Big wide circuits) over my old SR3 tracksport but mine was only 205bhp and road legal so no slicks etc.
Looking at the old Luckyp films with sean edwards at snett the ultima wouldn't be too far off the pace when i was racing in FPA which are around 1.05 for a pole lap as the ultima was running around 1.15 and there were another 5 seconds or so to be made up there with all the traffic i reckon so the ultima is a seriously quick tool, and he drove it there.

I'm not having this! That is my car that they are selling for me and I can assure you that it is not a 1998 car but a 2008 car, built in 2007. If you knew anything about Ultima's you would realise that they did not build the GTR in 1998, that model was called the Sport. Just exactly what is it that is rough around the edges about the car? Is it the dry sump system, leather interior, brand new rose jointed suspension, rear wing, bodywork or engine, freshly rebuilt by Peter Knight, one of the best names in the business? I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture that I think this car is more than presentable. Indeed show me any other Ultima out there that has had every factory option fitted all bought from the factory unlike some cars, for that money, indeed a 2001 car recently sold for the same money which in my opinion wasn't as well specified. I know through BHP that you've been to see my car and were willing to purchase it but they would not give you the trade in on your Lotus that you were looking for. I am currently considering taking action against you for any damage or loss of potential sales which you have caused me but at this moment I will settle for a retraction written directly on this thread. Also, if the build quality is that poor why did Ultima request the car be put on their stand at the 2008 National Kit Car Show in Stoneleigh.
Highflyer. My car has not been heavily tracked, in fact I have done a sum total of five track days in that car. In light of the fact that you have never been to see the car and made two stupid and unacceptable offers over the phone and by email demonstrating your willingness to buy the car would lead me to believe that you don't think there's anything wrong with it either. May I suggest that if you can accurately ascertain a cars condition just by scanning photographs your talents would be better served finding Shergar, Lord Lucan, etc.
To anyone considering purchasing my Ultima or any Ultima do not be swayed by ill informed keyboard jockeys and ask the factory directly and I'm sure they will be only too pleased to give you information on any car.
I hope this post clarifies matters, however, should either of you gentleman require further clarification you can either PM me or I will only be too pleased for a face to face meeting for a full and frank discussion on the potential damage that you have caused me in trying to sell my vehicle.
Lastly I can thoroughly recommend BHP, they are enthusiastic, deal with lots of sports cars and do not keep you waiting months and months for a slot unlike some other Ultima specialists.
Yes I got the year wrong but only because that is what they told me at the time.
The passenger side door didn't lock in place,(though the chap did say a part was on order to fix this).
The left hand stripe on the rear clam was applied /repaired badly.
If I were trying to sell my car SOR I would make sure little things like the above were taken care of.
The rest of the car looked reasonably sound.
Wrong, I was offered a fair price for my car on a PX.(against a Porsche)
Wrong, I wasn't willing to buy the car.
I didn't give the Ultima a second thought I actually preferred a GT3 they had there.
So IMO the car didn't meet my expectations at the price point asked.
I have seen better for less, all in my opinion.
I am in fact a tight fisted git and I wouldn't part with more than £30K for that car.
I hope that clears up any mis-understandings.
