I went streight in a turnabout at 30 mph under a heavy rain...an aquaplaning on a non perfect tarmac surface and the car suddenly lost completely control...BTW the front airbag nearly broke my nose into pieces!

They did nothing and I just flew into a steel thing (a statue...), and I doubt whatever electronic aid could have done anything on two inches deep pond taken at 30mph just too close to the turnabout...

I'm ok thanks.
The tires were the stock Michelin Pilot sport (non cup), on 19' wheels, they had about 10.000 miles on them...

My 5 months old less than 2000 miles 318 did a spot of aquaplaning in Abrdeenshire on the A96 at 50 mph on Saturday afternoon. Bit scary for a second or two 'til it found grip again. Conditions were atrocious though. Fortunately my duaghter was fast asleep at the time!

Glad you are ok mate, the car you can replace you on the other hand can not be replaced. I hope your insurance helps you out. I am getting "GAP" insurance just in case.

Yep, roads & weather were atrocious last week in Aberdeenshire. Aquaplaned a couple of times in the Z4 due to to much sitting water and me going a tad to fast. Luckily on a straight bit of road.

Wide tyres and lots of standing water. No car maintan decent levels of grip in those circumstances.

The repair cost is exactly 20k Euros, unfortunately the car wasn't full coverage insured.

You can't get any grip with any car in a 2 inches pond once the rear wheels loose contact with the tarmac, you just go streight and if the obstacle is just 10 meters far you're done.
