it stopped raining but it was wet to the end. He settled for 3rd but he has enough points to win the championship. Arguably the most talented rider the world has ever seen.

Fantastic. I've never been a fan of Stoner, but you just have to admire the ride he gave too. cool

Quality. He really is the GOAT.

Stoner was awesome today as well - since his return he does seem to have lightened up a bit to - if he carries on there is a danger we might end up liking him!

But Rossi.... bow

Rossi really is such a class act and in my opinion is unrivalled in his combination of natural ability on the track and charisma off the track.

A worthy 9th championship, though I guess Gallina Vecchia (old hen?) on his shirt and the egg(s) must be Italian humour!!

For me, only Ago still stands the test of time against Rossi for achievement (soap boxes and cries of derision over Doohan, Gardner etc not required - its just my opinion!)

Cant take it away from Stoner though, fantastic last couple of races. I'm in AU at the moment and had the opportunity to be at Phillip Island for last weekends race (and far too many beers in Cowes).

Rossi may have kept an eye on the championship to want to take every risk, but Stoner continues to prove what a great rider he is. The top 4 (Rossi, Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa) remain heads and shoulders above everyone else.

Should be another great championship next year, hopefully with everyone fit maybe Lorenzo will get his head down for an entire season and lose the "win it or bin it" tag that Stoner once held before his switch to Ducati.

Just a shame Toseland couldnt find enough form to keep a Brit in the championship!

Hi Jez, thats just a bit further east than the bass highway we would have taken to get to the Island isn't it? The police were pretty bloomin' hot on speeding with their radar guns down there. What I liked the best was the totally trashed Maloo on a parked trailer in the main Cowes high street with storyboards recanting how well the poor chap wrapped it around a tree. It was a real mess mind!
