Being pursued by someone you don't fancy
Discussion
You would think I had read enough relationship threads on here to know better, but...
A girl I know through mutual friends, who I have no attraction to, seems to be developing an interest in me. She started following me around online, showing up on the same nights out I was on, and every time I turned around she was next to me. Now I should mention, short of a woman rugby tackling me to the ground and sitting on my face, I usually miss any signs of interest from the opposite sex completely, so I don't think I'm being paranoid. A lot of my friends have noticed too and some even talk as though it's a case of when, not if. Mates, eh?
Thankfully, someone chatted her up and they started dating, so this came to a halt. Then he decided to leave her for his ex a few months in, cue much sobbing and needing to talk. In my innocence, I tried to be there for her like any mate would, and now she is feeling better she has resumed her old pattern.
She is a nice girl and a good friend, but I just don't see her as anyone else and never will. Normally I am the one on the receiving end of this situation and I don't know any way of dealing with it that hasn't hurt like hell, but she has been through a bit of pain recently and I am trying desperately not to add to the list. Has anyone ever dealt with this without it ending in tears?

She follows you around online?
I think this problem will sort itself out...
This is the last place I visit regularly online that she doesn't seem to have come into. If the internet were a nightclub, this would be the gents toilets. I think this problem will sort itself out...

She is on my Facebook and MSN, if I do anything to either of them she adds a comment or 'Like' within a few minutes.

Change your status to "In a Relationship".With a male friend. She won't 'like' that.

k her. Literally, I don't mean "ignore her".
Then tell her to sod off.
Ok, it'll hurt her, but she'll at least have one night of "up". So to speak.
No No No, women love to be treated badly and to have to chase men.
