There are a few places in the world that rival trade winds and clear warm waters of the south pacific but after talking to a friend while sailing this weekend, Bonaire is heaven. The avg yearly temp is 27.8 deg c, water temp 26.7 so no wetsuits need not apply. Anyone been there? websites all look too good to be true. Nz dollar is about 80cents against the US, so looking very good smile

Bonaire, part of the ABC island's Aruba-Bon-Curacao is a pretty boring place after windsurfing unless you like cruise ship passengers and KFC and so likes to promote it's self at "Worlds best", one of it's claim is "Worlds best" diving but like a lot of the world nowadays not a lot of fish. try the other two islands or tobago !

Hi windsurfing is the focus. I've taken my gear to Fiji and Rarotonga where there's hardly anything there, and had a blast. I'm there for the scenery and sharing good times with friends. Not too bothered about night life or fancy accom. This trip I want to hire all my gear though.

Sorry you did ask about Bonaire (and mentioned Heaven)and I told you (as someone who's been there) that it's pretty boring (but maybe you coming from NZ it's not), unless you just wanted to tell all of PH that you were off there or work for the Bonaire tourist board! there is no scenary to speak of (flat-like hell, but I do recall a couple of salt hills!) good times with friends can be had in your front room...real good hardcore windsurfing to be had on the north shore of maui in Hawaii which would even be closer for you ! http://blog.mauiwindsurfing.net/.
