How f**king annoying, I've only had the bloody thing a week. Bambi decided to jump out in front of me this morning...

I was of course pleased with how the Cerbera took the impact, it seems I have cracked the gel coat on the bonnet, shoved the bonnet back a little, cracked the NSF wing and also the light pod.

Arse!

Happened to me in a Chimarea 10 years ago or so. You are lucky bambi didnt land on your lap.
Think my ins bill was 6K for a cracked wing (total rip off!).

Pics?

Did you teach it a lesson it will never forget and eat it? its the least you could do.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune though. Try surface and design for a quote to repair. They done my full back end for under £5k.

I'll do some pics tomorrow. The car is still very drivable and I think it should be a fairly easy repair, just depends if they have to remove the lights to sort it. I'm taking it over to offord on wednesday to get a few little niggles looked at, tey'll give me a general estimate and make sure it is roadworthy, I'll get them to adjust the bonnet whilst they are at it then if all is well I might leave it till the spring so it is nice and shiny for summer.

Uttely gutted though!

Some pictures....

Light pod, has a small crack in the grp, also a 4 nch crack in the wing right next to the bonnet. Also some stress cracks in the gelcoat.

Crack in the grp in the vent under the indicator..

Cracks in the gelcoat on the bonnet

However with a bit of a polish is still looks rather splendid wink

The nsf of the bonnet has been pushed back a little so it will no longer fasten closed...

I would suggest that you get the bonnet straightened, cant see that being much of a problem, then get Surface and Design to spray the front where the damage is, they will be able to blend it in no prob, they did on the roof of mine.

The bonnet is being done later this week (along with the other niggles I have found in the last week since I got it).I would take it to surface and design, but blackpool is a real trek for me (I'm in cambridge) so I'll use someone local.

As a few people have pointed out, it might be worth leaving it until the spring so it is nice and shiny for Le mans....

Two quotes so far, £800 from someone recommended on here, based in the midlands (TVR and Lotus specialists) and £1600 from my local insurance approved bodyshop..

Will see what Offord think in the morning.

davidd. Give 'plasticman' a bell if you are local. Seriously.

OH, by the way, now is the time to smooth in the pods both sides - will be marginally more and look much better IMO smile
