Shearer was there because of some involvement he has with Castrol and the 2010 World Cup.

As for Dom Joly...i have no idea, but when you have one idiot presenting the show, another doesn't matter too much.

The rallies themselves are pale shadows of their former selves - take the British Rally for instance, Now it consists of 10 stages, each of which is done twice, and never gets outside Wales. In the past it included stages in Wales, went up the west coast to Scotland then back down the east coast( via the legendary stages in Kielder ) - no stages were done twice, and some were done at night.

Some of us were trying not to find out the result until after watching the (albeit apalling) coverage on the TV
