Hi there,
The Ascari A10 was a more extreme version of the KZ1 road car.
The cars raced in FIA GT3, British GT and a few other series across the world were KZ1's.

The A10 was the Yellow car tested on Top Gear and a few other programmes and was seen at loads of motorshows etc

Ascari also built the KZ1R which has been seen at a few events, this was effectively a GT3 racer for the road. This car is stunning in the flesh.

Of course the pre-cursor to all of these was the standard KZ1, itself a stunning car.

I also have this pic taken on my old film camera from Supercar Sunday 2005, its a KZ1 race car prototype from memory.

I think Broughtons used to be the UK agent for Ascari, I remember them having a Blue KZ1 for sale last year. There must have been a few KZ1's built over the years, but I think there is only 1 A10 in exsistence.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Tim

My dad was working for Ascari for a while and he told me that the A10 road car is actually faster than the race car!!
It's a funny old company, basically a hugely wealthy individual who loves cars and has built his own car and race track to enjoy them on! What a life!! If you need any specific info I am sure I could bug my dad for it...

havent they gone bust?
I don't think they have gone bust but I was under the impression that it was just not cost effective to have a base in the UK so they have sold up and run the operation from the race resort in Spain?!? Whilst my dad was working for them they had the factory/workshop to let and were thinning out the workforce etc. So in answer to your question... No!
i used to live nr banbury, and i saw the yellow car with blue stripe out on the roads nr banbury, and i tried to follow it down a countrylane but i couldnt believe how fast and how loud it was, it had flames coming out of the exhaust and when it downshifted the noise was so loud i jumped out of my seat.

the old factory has been for sale in the back of autosport for months now, weeds and all. I never quite understood why, at £300,000 for a car it came with pug 206 headlights and the racier versions had the chav tastic morette conversions, as seen on a saturday night outside McDonalds. The cut outs in the rear bumper of the yellow car are pretty shonky too.

they brought the KZ1 to vmax, I went out in it, its funny, I didnt expect to be that impressed but it was a real supercar experience. i'd just got out of a Ford GT at the time so I had a pretty good reference point.
I remember that
lovely looking beast
