I was lucky enough to attend this year's Berkshire hathaway meeting in Omaha and I bumped into Evan Davies in a Dairy Queen the night before! I suppose the interview is from then.

Actually I have an idea to kick my useless financial advisors into touch and see if I can sign up with Mr Buffett's outfit.

Thing is - if everybody does it, it will of necessity collapse...

Mmm but the entire world will be doing that tonight, and that's what buggers things up - like kick'n'rush football frown

I'd just like to find an investment vehicle that does a bit better than 'slightly less than average'. Don't want an IFA, more of a stockbroker I suppose. Although that reminds me of the tale about the time the stockbrokers got together to compare their luxury yachts. No clients seemed to have yachts though!

Unlikely - BH has outperformed the SP, FT and most other funds consistently for 40 years and hardly anyone here has the faintest idea who Buffett and Munger are. No-one seems to have taken on board their key messages regarding investment term, futility of share price watching and pointless paying of dividends. So holding up a banner saying "These two old giffers know more about investing than Wall Street and the City combined" still won't get much of a response.

Agreed. Goes with what he believes and not the herd. Kids are brought up understanding the value of stuff - no free ride. Already given away $31b to the Gates Foundation.

Legend!
