John Lewis price match?

Are John Lewis still never knowingly undersold?

IE: do they still do the price match thingy?

and do they match internet prices?

Another good thing with John Lewis's is the 5 year guarantee.

They used to price match shops that were mostly mail order IF they had a shop as well. eg, they would match Empire (when they still existed)

With John Lewis, to be honest, if you get a price within a few % of an online price, buy it from JL. Better service in the long run. eg, tv for £500, JL sell it for £525, worth the premium going to JL.

Apparently they send your quote to a central team who actually tour the country and go to the actual shops you quote, and make sure they have it in stock (if it is not too local).

Thorough but cumbersome and no good if you want something there and then as they told me it would take a few weeks; as my rival quote was Richer Sounds who could run out of stock quickly I gave up.

The price difference was laughably large (46" LCD) so bought from Richer

Just bought a dishwahser fromn them. Its cheaper then the exact same one from comet/dixons etc, i got a longer warranrty then both, free delivery and I didnt have to go into a comet or dixons store.

I found that most electrical items sold in John Lewis have an extra worthless knob & an item no. slightly different to anyone elses', so not possible to price match!

Also worth asking about a particular item you may have seen elsewhere but isn't in their store or online as they have a lot of different stuff in other stores and will move around for you.

I bought a little Dyson - DC16 Animal for the car- went to all the main white goods outlets and searched online, the ticket price at John Lewis was cheaper than all of them.

What are you wanting to buy? I almost bought a telly from them a few weeks ago, found the price on the richer sounds website, they pricematch their website to any of their stores, I got JL to match that and include their 5 year warranty and was just about to buy when I managed to persuade M&S to price match with their 5 year warranty and M&S only won because there's one near to me (nearest JL is 20/30 miles away) so I could pick it up on the same day rather than wait for delivery from JL

Not any more - it didn't used to be 5yrs either, everything was effectively guaranteed for ever, if you were cheeky enough to take it back.

People were obviously taking the piss which is a shame.
