Ive just organised a few guys on the TVR section to go down to Santa Pod on the 1st November, but what sort of time should we all aim to get down there? Must you get there early to ensure a place, or is it pretty easy to get in?

Another question as well while i'm here, is it better to run with a full tank of fuel (weight over the back wheels) or with little fuel (so its lighter overall).

Thanks in advance,

Lewis

Make sure you get there early. For the sort of times you're likely to be running, the amount of fuel probably won't make a huge difference. In a TVR, the limiting factor is almost certainly going to be the amount of grip you've got.

Its a slippery slope...you'll be back for more and chasing your times. I imagine your running as is so get if your there early...opens at 8am, track 9.30 I think. you can sign on on get some passes in before it gets too busy. Then say a couple later on and sit back and enjoy watching the others. As there are a group of you get someone to film the runs and check out the great on track pics taken in Blackett Photography's portacabin at the start. Great to go home with some good pics of the motor. Have a great day.

pump up the fronts, and put two bags of sand in the boot....

and drop any excess drive belts off, who needs em?

But be sure to make sure the bags of sand are anchored down and FIA standard

Thanks everyone, i have arranged for everyone to get down quite early.

Someone has asked me how many runs we should expect to get throughout the day, but i have never been confused

How many should we be expecting each?

That depends on the reliability of your TVR's smile

Oooo thats a low blow ! Anything from 6 to 16. Depends mainly on how busy, and swines puking coolent down the track. the rule of thumb is any probs pull over asap. Makes cleaning up faster and stops everyone moaning in the que.
Have a great day

Some (who let their wives drive) have power steering rolleyes
Some even have Aircon!... must be a few ponies to be had by disconnecting these.

By far the biggest gains for daily TVRs at the strip is a pair of decent rear tyres. R888s as a mininum.

We waited around until lunchtime but did not seem to be clearing much so we had to give up as well frown
