Just been told by GM Europe that there will be no more VXR8s coming to the UK and no new model replacing it.
I was really looking forward to the HSV E2!

Not sure many of us actually expected those to arrive here. I guess time will tell.

Does anyone know if Walkinshaw or anyone else is going to pick up the HSV baton?

One place says one thing and somewhere else say something else. We'll see. An 09 LS3 would suit us fine

Thats what I expected.
Sad days, but look at the exchange rate and you will see some of the reason Im sure. The pound is becoming worthless like toilet paper.
Also stuff like greenhouse emissions, Vauxhall being claimed by the Fatherland etc.
Still at least 2010 Camaro's and new Corvettes are still available! The Yanks have to kill off the 4x4 and Trucks before they get down to the Camaro's and Vettes. Should be a decade or so of them to go.

Buy your 400 cube engine now! smile

If it's in RHD, I can make do with only two doors. biggrin

However, with Vauxhall/Opel splitting from GM, what are the chances?

There's also the fact that the VXR8 plugged a gap at the top of the VX range. The Insignia is HUGE, so it would seem that's less of a problem for the future.

Discussions are going on at the moment so don't write it off yet. Dear old exchange rate is making things more challenging....

Especially when Vauxhall sponsor their new cars being sold with £10-£13k discounts.

Why buy a new one if with currency shifts its >£40k when so many low mileage 09 Ls3 cars are kicking around for half that?

Camaro would be a better bet, but my suggestion would be a one off limited edition run of perhaps 150 or 200 cars.
