Would you use tyres (that have a lot of tread left) that have been professionally punctured repaired ?

Would you be happy going to something like Thunder Road again knowing that a tyre had been repaired ?

Just wondering what your thoughts are and if anybody had had any experiences of tyres failing after having been repaired.

I've had no problems driving on a repaired tyre. So long as the repair is deemed safe by the tyre fitter then I'm happy.

Most blow-outs occur on the side wall, so as long as the repair is not near there. (Plus it should not have been repaired if the damage is near the side wall anyway!)

Short answer: Yes.

Longer answer: If it's a proper vulcanised repair with a patch n plug then the repair will be stronger than the actual tyre itself.
I've tracked repaired semi-slicks and never had a problem and the same process is used to repair truck tyres and they run something like 120psi.
Also, a while back I was present at an incident where a truck tyre repairer was seriously injured when re-inflating a HGV tyre after repairing it. He hadn't set the pressure and left it inflating and eventually the tyre failed on an unrelated part of the sidewall injuring the fitter with the repair still intact.

Totaly agree with the above, if it's been done the right way.

We have been repairing Hi-performance and 4x4 tyres for years, just leave the final answer to the pro's.

Andy.

If you have run flats change em to normal tyres when you can

Ive had a repaired tyre on a previous car, was right in the middle of the tread mind but had no problems at all.
