V8 Vantage 20 Spoke Wheels
Discussion
The sportspack wheel are a light weight magnesium alloy, which reduces the unsprung weight so improving handling, as the sportspack components can be supplied seperatly it would be possible to dictate the change in wheels, issue will be price as the sportspack is discounted in comparison to the individual components,

Thanks for that Rick, looks like I'll have to stick with the substance over style on this occasion then. Have you heard of any updates on the new front splitter and rear diffuser featured in the Autumns edition of AM Magazine? I've been told that AM were premature in featuring them as they are not yet available.

Steve,
For MY2010 there is a new 10-spoke wheel that is available with the Sport Pack as an alternative to the 5-spoke. Perhaps that would appeal, though I have no idea whether it's available as a package. Go to the AM website and click on The Cars (http://www.astonmartin.com/eng/thecars) -- the first pic of a silver V8 Coupe has these wheels.

Thanks for that SR....still don't quite hit the spot compared to the 20 spoke so I'm sticking with the current sportspack option. There's one benefit I guess, cleaning them will be a lot easier For MY2010 there is a new 10-spoke wheel that is available with the Sport Pack as an alternative to the 5-spoke.

I know it's down to personal taste, but I do not like the 20 spoke wheels at all. The choice of wheels can dramatically alter the appearance of a vehicle, either negatively or positively. In my opinion the 20 spokes look too fussy and delicate and do not suit the V8V at all (they also look a nightmare to clean!)
I attended an AM driving event last year following the launch of the 4.7. Several 4.7s in the showroom had the 7 spoke wheels fitted as opposed to the new 20 spoke design, despite being no longer available as an option. When I queried this I was informed that it was on direction of the sales manager.
Personally, I think that the original 7 spoke design takes some beating, after that the new 10 spoke design followed by the 5 spoke sportpack wheels.
I'm hoping to be looking for a 4.7 next year. Ideally, this would be with the 7 spoke design (which I know is hardly a possibility). After that I would opt for the new 10 spoke or 5 spoke design.

I set my heart on a Vantage with the sportspack option because of the wheels, but when test driving the Sportspack the ride is very hard and when you hit a bump you felt it throughout the car, on a track it would be very different.
In the end I bought a Tempest Blue roadster with the 20 spoke wheels and I must say very happy with them (and the car).
The 20 spokes are not difficult to clean, have a go at trying to get the brake dust out of the middle of the 5 spoke wheels...
As said before though it is all down to individual taste.

Dave, I agree with you and having seen your roadster I'm even more miffed that they're not an option with the sportspack. Congrats on the car btw.

As an update, just checked with the parts department and these items will be available at the end of November as they are still undergoing testing.

I think you will find that the sports pack wheels are not magnesium, but are forged aluminium which is why they are lighter than standard. I thought it worth clarifying before people might start to worry about mag wheels on a road car. http://www.astonmartin.com/eng/worksservice/option...
