As the title says, Love Canada / Scenery.

Always liked the sound of this, just wondered if anyone can recommend / tell me to steer clear of it.

Yes. It was a truly memorable trip and I can't recommend it highly enough. Even if it causes you some deprivation I would urge you to go Gold Leaf to get the best out of the trip. Standing on the rear platform of the train, glass of red in hand watching some of the best scenery in the world whilst cruising along at 40mph was utterly magical.

We went from Vancouver to Jasper. I can clearly remember the disappointment when we rolled out of Vancouver in thick fog soon replaced my amazement as we rolled through lush forest, arid desert, mountain lowland and better. Awesome.

Food was fantastic. You get two breakfasts. Unlimited booze started at 11.00am. A taster below...

I've got a few friends who work on the train in the Summer. Even they recommend it.

1 tip - make sure your seat is not by the toilets.

Other than that - agree with the Gold leaf comment and enjoy.

I'm going to do it one day.

The crew are all taught loads of stuff about Canadian history, geography, climatology, industry and topical issues. If you get a good crew member (like I did haha) you'll have an amazing experience.

Just come back from visiting the parents in Van and the train was in at the station. She is a good looking girl.
