Concentration waivering here at TB Towers as a succession of military aircraft pass overhead (Glos) this afternoon, at altitude but not quietly.

Had a look outside an hour ago to see what was up there but they're too high to see clearly with the unaided eye - still making a lot of noise.

Is there an exercise on or is Al Gore invading?

There is an exercise going on over the sea off Wales involving the Navy and the RAF.

Any chance they might use Holyhead for some ground attack practice?

There's been a pair of F-15s over Herefordshire for most of the afternoon, could the same ones....

Ever hear of a "Thursday War"?

If not, it's the traditional day when naval training excercises are performed. The problem is that they ran out of Thursdays and now have them on Tuesdays too...

It plays hell with scheduling trials aircraft for our radar tests - there aren't enough instrumented planes to go round. frown

Thanks for the replies. Had to get up even earlier than usual this morning to catch up and meet a couple of deadlines, but I'm sure it's my fault for noticing. I certainly wouldn't complain formally at such essential activity.
