Ferrari 355 spider for £28K
Discussion
Not seen one this cheap before. And its red/cream with service history. Will make some one a good buy, unless there is a catch. To cheap IMO, but there again if the guy just wants a quick sale then fair enough. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ferrari-355-Spider-RED-With-...

Is it me or have Spyders lost their premium, esp against Berlinettas?
And prices on 355s all round seem to have softened ~15% in last few months. Heard that 360s have gone off even sharper.
I don't watch this market very closely-but I might start
- does this sound about right to those that do?

I am wondering if the seller has made a mistake in his Ebay listings. If you read his discription he mentions twice about setting a low reserve. Even though there is a fixed selling price of 28-9K.
Swindler i think this red/cream is an exception if he has not made a mistake in the listings. And does not reflect the true price of red/cream spiders. Although the 355 and 360 prices have been falling for over 12 months now. Its quite old news that they have been.

I sold my 1993 348 Spider in A1 condition for £29,999 four years ago, so the fact it has taken 355 Spiders four years to come to around a similar figure is not a massive surprise.
Why are there any more at that price??? Any links? Or is this just based on just this single one?Just saying it doesn't surprise me Chas that they are coming down to around £30k now. Same with the 360s. All of the fairly mass produced modern Ferraris will come down into the 20s sooner or later.
But I agree, if this one checks out and is bought for £28k then that will probably be the bargain 355 since they were launched.

hi bud, yes i was going to say that if your conclusion was based just on that single car. Then its great news for 360 spider owners. last year i was offered this 360 spider with full history and no stories for £31,000  Just got to catch em at the right time when people are vulnerable i guess.

I'm not a big 360 fan, but even I would have considered getting that!!!And then add a 430 engine and a stradale body kit.

[/URL][/pic]Sub 30K 355s have been around for some time now, albeit fairly infrequently.
Specialists have 30,000 mile cars with full historys regularly at £35K
I have been keeping a close eye on 355 prices for years and to be honest I certainly haven't noticed a 15% drop in the last 12 months.... Around a year ago when the arse fell out of the market, the same didn't happen to 355s, if it did I probably would have moved heaven and earth to get one.
360s have indeed been falling steadily for some time, and I think 348s have strengthened slightly...
For me it seems that 30K is the lowest a decent 355 will get to, they seems to meet real resistance to going below that figure, probably because of the fact that aesthetically they are more loved than 348s and 360s...
IMHO, we'll soon be at the stage where the only thing to chose between a 355 and a 360 will be which one you like best. The newer 360 platform, despite its higher everydayuseabilityness over the 355 will be negated by their relative abundance compared with 355s. I think this will eventually see the 348 prices heading (very slightly) south again simultaneously....
I'd love to see a TDF/Crema, FSH, straight 355 with less than 40K on it for £25K but I can't see it in the next couple of years....

No one is telling anyone anything new about how 355 prices have stumbled. hats old news.
Its just that this is a red/cream SPIDER for 28K. Who has seen this before....and were? I certainly have not...ever. Blue ones for 30ish K yes but red/creams, no not me.
Sorry I guess my post was perhaps too general about Ferrari prices. Its just that this is a red/cream SPIDER for 28K. Who has seen this before....and were? I certainly have not...ever. Blue ones for 30ish K yes but red/creams, no not me.
You're correct that this particular spec' is a rare find at £28K.
