I have around 400 photos that need printing except they are all too large... I have a colour photocopier to use but the file sizes need to be as small as possible or it falls over so to speak. I want to end up with two photos per sheet of A4.
Anyhow, is there are way of quickly shrinking all the files down to a smaller size that doesn't involve editing them individally.
Heres hoping..

Can't you just sort out the size issue when you setup the printing params?Anyhow, is there are way of quickly shrinking all the files down to a smaller size that doesn't involve editing them individally.

From the thumbnail (Windows Explorer in XP) if I right click and selct Print, I get a dialogue box that says 'Welcome to the Photo Printing Wizard' - and you can sort it all out from there - the actual files sizes and dimensions are immaterial.
Another cheat is to open a new page in Word, drag two text boxes to the size you want then insert an image into each. Again, the actual files sizes and dimensions are immaterial.

Actually I think in this case they are, if I'm following the OP correctly he's printing to a proper colour photocopier rather than a printer with a scanner on top and it's struggling as the print file is too large for it's buffer causing to it be really slow.If I'm right then the only solution will be to reduce to size of the images (and hence the file size) to something the copier can cope with a bit better. In this case OP, you'll need some kind of photo manipulation software that will allow you to do batch resizing, Photoshop will do it via an action, however something smaller may do the job much easier. I use ACDSee for jobs like this but there may well be free apps that will do it, maybe Picassa or Irfanview.
Hope this helps.
follow this link for Powertoys for XP.

There is an image resizer in there that will work on a whole batch.
