race suit expiry FIA- 8856 - 2000

Hi people. Im doing some clubsport next year and have got a Alpinestars GP2 suit which is a FIA 8856 - 2000 homologated suit. Its manufacture date is 2006 (just purchased new) Can anyone tell me when this suit would expire and if the manufacture date effects this? Cant find anything in the blue book! Cheers..

The answer is, I believe, in many years! My OMP suit has the same label and manufacturers date, I expect to be using it until it wears out...

IIRC FIA 1986-label suits are being taken out from next year, so on that basis you might have until 2023??

Next year I was hoping to be able to use my still perfect '86 label Stand21 Pro suit that's been laying dormant for 15 years while I've had to take a competition sabbatical

Had a quick look, this is in red in the current Blue Book meaning it may come into force next year - suggest you keep an eye on 'Motorsports Now' or whatever it's called for the official announcement - personally I'm keen on knowing the score with Snell SA2000 helmets!

Small hi-jack here - If anyone is 'disposing' of a race suit (due to it being out of date for competition) and it would fit a chap of slim build and 6'3 tall - then please let me know!!!!

Im only doing track days but would like to have some proper gear (even if it is deemed out of date by the FIA rulebook) to protect me should the worst happen.
