I agree that, to a petrolhead, it needs doing properly, but look at how many VXR8's had to be off-loaded.

The Velsatis was a flop with 'only' 1400 sold in three years, many discounted. I reckon that's just under three times the number of VXR8's sold in a slightly shorter time frame.

A project like the RHD Camaro could sink GM, so I can't see it happening - sadly. cry

Not a bad price. Couldn't see it being anywhere near that over here. I've always thought that was a nice looking car. Would have to have it in stealth bomber black, or Transformers Yellow with the bumblebee racing stripes rofl

£70k + for a custom RHD conversion. Suck my balls!

That is crazy money considering there is a place in the UK that will "convert" a new Mustang for 8-9000 £

I'd be quite happy with the left hooker @ £20k.

Fit a small mirror on the passenger side in the bottom corner of the screen - you can see down both sides of the vehicle in front for overtaking. hehe

Me too, but sadly, we in Australia have draconian laws regarding LHD registrations to protect the local industry, specifically the converters.

A car must be at least 15yo to allow LHD rego, with most states 25 to 30 years.

Hence, the joke that is the price they ask here for converted vehicles.

The price Performax are asking is about double what the factory RHD Camaro was going to cost here.

But fools gladly pay up, just like they did when HSV wanted $150k for a Commodore with a 427 engine! rolleyes

You blokes dont know how good you have it there.

I can sort of understand the legislation, but an import tax (which is high there already) makes much more sense.

Ha, the W427 was a total rip off, $80k extra for a $10k upgrade and IIRC it was on a R8 base not the GTS, had less power than the GM crate 427 and seemed to be going backward in styling. Then wanted LS7 money for the LS3's they took out! confused

HSV probably could have sold a lot more at $150k of the Coupe 60 instead of the 427! banghead

Hard to believe that GM Holden was the only profitable part of the GM group.

Regarding LHD, we can have them, but can't use the headlights that work for both sides of the road, EU refused to 'E' mark them!!!! Even though we'd been allowed to use them since the 1950's. rolleyes

I believe that the Camaro is still on its way as a Chevrolet , tho maybe to europe rather than over here on the island. It won't be RHD though , that was binned last year.
You can get a LHD 6.2 for 39,995 thru the American importers.

Can't see why RHD would be so difficult. GM must have state of the art CAD systems with every intricate part modelled. So they just press a button and it runs a routine to mirror image the appropriate parts.

I have seen several old Mustangs with RHD conversions. Dirty great chain running across the top of the footwalls. Need to be careful you didn't get your shoe laces caught.

Even more surprising Ford have never done a RHD Mustang given the car's iconic status and popularity.
