Im looking in the next couple of months to get my 2004 3 door hardback freelander detailed.

I've spoke to a detailer who is a member of this site to discuss prices, however, i have a few questions that i'd like answered if possible.

I put the same question on detailingworld a few weeks ago but did'nt get much of a reply.

On the drivers side door, there are 4 small dents caused by careless other people opening their doors into it, there are 3 on the main door part and one on the B pillar of the door.
Also, on the drivers side door under the window rubber, there is a small 1-2 inch patch of rust.

I'm wondering if its best to get the car detailed then have the dents removed and the rust patch treated and resprayed? Or is it best to get the cars rust treated and sprayed and the dents removed, then detailed?

The paintwork has sadly been neglected by the first owner and ive put a few bramble rashes on it through off roading in it, ive used autoglym polish and paint renovator to help it but i cannot fix it properly.

What would you recommend?

Personally I would get the dents and rust patch sorted first, If its detailed first the area that has been sprayed will then have to be treated.
Get all the little bits sorted then pass it to the detailer.

Hi ,

Or you could find a company close to you like myself that can sort out all your problems in house at the same time in the correct order of operation wink

I would say that at least 70% of all detailing work we carryout ends up with some sort of paintwork , wheel refurb , or PDR after inspecting the vehicle with the owner present .

Detailing ,
Paintwork ,
paintless dent removal ,
leather colouring ,
general servicing ,
bespoke mechnical work ,
sale of detail products in house
Stockest of DODO JUICE products

and next door to us
wheel refurb and tyres

some pictures of my own car that is used a demo of what the company can do.

Detailing should be the icing on the cake, the repair work would need doing first, if we are detailing a car and removing some dents at the same time, we usually wash and clay etc before the dents are removed, but for paint work thats the first job if it needs any.
