Keeping aTVR...

I used to have a Chimaera for 3 years and sold it as I got totally browned off with the battery drain and resultant fandang with the alarm,breaking into my own car and then the AA....

I still love them though and I am dying for someone to tell me you can buy a T350 in confidence and keep it without worrying about using it infrequently or not on a trickle charger.....please...

I think you will see the same issue with any TVR if you dont use it enough. My Chim lives on the drive and I try to make a point of driving it at least once every two weeks (obviously a lot more in the summer!). Sometimes it can go 3 or even 4 weeks. The only time the battery went flat it turned out to be a duffer and had to be replaced as it wouldnt hold a charge.

Having said that after 4 weeks it was a bit touch and go as it was cranking quite slowly. At that point I bought a solar trickle charger and have not had any problems since.

sadly this is probably why you see so few of them in London (most mid to high earners don't have trickle charge or garage facilities) - and indeed why they didn't really sell like they should have...

So they don't all get the use they should
The Chim was the one I worried about most if I didn't drive it for a few days

and I've had no problems since with slow turning starter etc

good idea but not much use in a rented garage, undergroun parking or in the street in London....much the same problem as trickle charger...

I had similar problems with the Tuscan - battery would go flat in a week. Solar charger solved my problems, but that was clearly just a workaround to a power leak somewhere.

Since I got the Sag, I've had no problems whatsoever and no recourse to the solar charger. To be honest, I think it's just luck of the draw.
