Well Sir you had a good innings!!

About 20mins ago, my aging GrandDad (88) decided to clock out of this world and onto a better one, he has struggled for 2 years with failing health and his mind has been going for a lot longer (god praying Im not going to get that one)...

He has been in and out of hosiptal now for several months with failing kidneys and Liver... he was doing so bad 2 weeks ago that they took him off the meds and the old git fought on for 2 more weeks....

Shame his final 2 years have been one long dream, come fairy land for him due to his mind!!

The absolute stter is that my father is on the way to hospital to see his dad (he doesnt know yet as he has no mobile phone) and there is noone that can meet him at the hospital at the moment as my mum didnt go with him (Hull to Hartlepool) due to bad health.... Im hoping one of the relatives can get there in time so he can see a friendly face.

We all go sometime and his has been expected for a while now.... I just hope my innings is as long as his..

I shall be raising a glass for the old git tonight... have fun up there where ever you are!!

Hes been in LaLa land for a while now, which has been harder on the family then when he has finally let go.

Example being, my nan went into hospital and they refused to take him in as well (they come as a pair tho she has a few years more) and she is the main carer.... cue him getting all confused as to when she is coming home and sitting in the dark for 2 days not knowing what to do, how to make food, where the food was and what his bed was for...

We found out when a neighbour spotted him wandering round in the dark and my folks went fking mental with the hospital...

But thankfully hes gone to rest and will no longer be the scared little child that he became, not knowing why his kidneys and liver were failing and not really realising he was in fact nearly 90 years old... That was fking heart breaking seeing and hearing about that...

Happened to my Father, one of the hardest things anyone can go through.

Going through similar the now mate.

My granpa passed away on sunday, he was 84 but was healthy and fit as someone 30 years younger.
Cancer and a flesh eating bug took him, gone in 6 days

Have his funeral tomorrow which will be hard, but his house is in my street and passing that every day will be the worst.

Just remember the happy times you shared and be thankful he is no longer is pain.

Feel for you all

Best mates father that I've known for 30+ years and was like a 2nd father to me passed away last night ( he had heart trouble and had many hospital visits, so it wasnt unexpected)

I'm a pretty emotional type so wasnt much good to my mate on the phone, found it ver difficult to hold myself together

May he and all your loved ones RIP

Not a record.... Mother rang whist I was busy at work until 6pm, Im stuck in London (parents orders until he died and funeral announced), parents in Hull and Grandparents in Hartlepool.

So was sat in work pondering things.

I feel your pain mate. My nan just passed away literally a few hours ago and i just found out from my mum. I made the drive 90 miles to see her with my fiancee yesterday and her sons and daughters visited today. It's as if she knew we all had come and was ready to move on...
