"166mph biker seduced by speed
A biker has been jailed for nine months after being caught doing what is believed to be the fastest speed ever recorded on a Scottish road. Neil Purves, 27, of Cockburnspath, was detected by police as he travelled at 166mph on a 60mph stretch of the A702 near West Linton in the Borders."
Seems a bit harsh when all he did was to exceed the speed limit by 100mph or if you prefer 177%. if he'd simply shone a laser beam at a police helicopter he'd have had a nice day out talking to the boys in blue about their extravagant toys (as long as he'd agreed with them that he was a very naughty boy of course). http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/sout
p.s. coincidentally the same speed I achieved (indicated) on a 70mph road though I have no witnesses unless the bloke in the Fiat panda makes himself known.

Not something I'd recommend, but 9 months FFS?
