GriffChin,
Long time no hear.
We were displaying the yellow/white Griff (with other Tivs) at Waddington air show in July and the guy you sold it to came over to speak with me - we were the only Griff there on the Saturday. He has since sold it and regretted his decision and he now wants anothe Griff. He was air crew on a Sentry I think. Saw him at the aftershow party too and spoke with him again - nice chap.

Hi FFG, Yeah the bloke I sold it to was a chinook pilot for the RAF (How fonz like is that?) I needed to sell for the cash, bloody credit crunchcry having said that I bought a quality mountain bike so said chins are no morebiggrin

every cloud eh?

No, the Griff wasnt a pre cat, it was a 97 500 with sport compmotive wheels 17' on the rear and 16' on the front uprated cam and induction, made 269BHP in the Growl 2 years ago. Mmmmmmmmmm

One day I'll have another but until then I'll keep pedalinglaugh

Thought the plate sounded familiar, the car came into Spormotive for a new clutch and some other bits, either late last year or earlier this.

As you say it was owned by an RAF guy, but sure it was for sale.

Ian@sportmotive would probably remember more....

yes we did some work on it for Mike Reynolds, we then helped Mike sell the car to a guy called James Catlow last year, James appeared with the car this year at the Chatsworth event, you may have seen him he is about 7ft tall and 3ft wide and appears to sit on the Griff rather than in it! top bloke though and he loved the car, I think track V road may be looking after it for him as he is from up that way, I have his email details if required.

Hi Wycoller,

Wow you've been busy, sound like you've done some serious mods. I probably would have done the SC upgrade if I'd kept it, sounds amazing.

All the work I had done was with TorqueRVT in Middlewich (Ian)

When I replaced the cam I asked for one that was a 'bit more' than standard but I wasnt interested in any 'lumpyness & shunting' at low speeds, the answer was a cam from TVR Power,I'm not too sure what it was called (Power Cam maybe?) I'm sure if you called Ian he would have more of an idea, he should remember me/Griff as he drank stong coffee by the bucket load and due to my wife working for Starbucks I used to take a few packets everytime I went to see him.

If you have any other questions just drop me a line.

Hi
Thanks for the info Andy i,ll give Ian a nod just the info i needed. The car was smooth before i went to SC upgrade
even torque flow kit didn,t make much difference.
i will do the exh manis next coated to reduce under bonnet heat, then before i retire do body of chassis.
Then last job will be paintwork as had bird, cat or some w*****r scratch boot and rear wing.
tuscan seats are a god send. yes Ian at Sportmotive good guy believe it i did deal over telephone as working abroad and no time at home, had agreed cash deal subject to full service MOT and i paid for independent report. all good excellent portfolio which i haven,t kept up but all records with local Indie just a blast down the road in fact having an indie within7 miles and to get there you have one of the best driving and most dangerous roads is great.
i e mailed you, it,ll be a pleasure to meet you and let you drive the car!i,ll be at Chats and BNG
hope its not long til ya back in a Griff
