i am looking to do some basic mod's to my 07 1.6 focus Ghia. i have been told that the 1.6 manifold is very restrictive and by changing it could give up to 15hp. Ive also been told the 2.0L manifold will fit straight on with no messing about, is this true?

And what other sensible modifications shall i look at?

Thanks, John

This question comes up a lot on here. The answer with this is quite easy, but you won't like it: Sell it and get a Focus 2.0. Your insurance will be cheaper, and you will get a car that is far better sorted than you could ever make it. It will also cost you less than faffing around with manifolds, and then fault finding all the stupid things we forget about when doing things like that. I'm thinking bad connections, ECU errors, expletives as you discover you just screwed up the injectors etc.

I suspect the 15bhp is in the same calibrated scale as 20bhp from a free flowing exhaust, 10bhp from an air filter, 10bhp from expensive oil and another 5bhp from folding the back seat down (sorry, that one is a PH running joke). Put simply, if such big power gains were possible, Ford and other manufacturers would have done them years ago.
