In London Thursday to Sunday.

Obligatory trips will be Hamleys, Science Museum, Natural Science Museum.

We are popping in o the House of Commons (Yes, I'll give Winky a kck in the arse if I see him).

Any other ideas?

I was thinking Bank of England - they have a small Money Museum.

Anything else?

Covent Garden usually have some pretty good street performers out and about.
Probably a bit young for the Tate Modern, however some of the artwork is pretty crazy and there are usually a few kids running round and they seem to be having fun biggrin
Is he a footy fan? If he hasn't been to a big match at a major stadium then that is pretty impressive for a young lad.

Plus the obligatory Thursday night at Dirty Dicks, followed by coke and hookers...

if you do the london eye try the guided version a really quite good, not too expensive compared to a normal ticket, saves on queues and virtually guaruntees an empty pod!!

The City is very bad for kids. Not a good place at all.

He won't enjoy it. Take him somewhere nice. Honest.

Not bad for a quick tour - BoE, Gherkin, Lloyds etc - I found that interesting as a kid (for a few minutes at least).

Easy to get down to HMS Belfast from there too.

HMS Belfast is usually a winner with boys of that age - my nephews loved it

The Army museum in Chelsea has quite a lot of 'boys toys' - you might also like to think about the Cabinet War Rooms & the main IWM site at Lambeth (though some of the exhibits there - Holocaust exhibition etc, maybe a little harrowing for him yet)

Changing the Guard - 11.00am at Buck House

Kite flying on Parliament Hill - great fun and the best view in London. If you're going to Hamley's you could buy the kite there

Madam Tussauds is usually popular with the kids

If he likes animals, how about London Zoo?

A river trip - instead of the hideously over-priced touristy things, just get the Westminster Pier to Greenwich river-bus and a guide book so you can answer questions

The Aquarium &, if you're here over the week-end, all the street entertainers on the South Bank

Above all, have fun - its a fantastic city for kids to spend 4 days in being entretained by a parent all out to give them a good time!

Horrids is a reasonable way from Piccadilly Circus (about 15-20 minutes by tube on the Piccadilly Line)

At 11 he may be on the edge of too old but take him to the pirate ship in Hyde Park (Princess Di memoria playground) - its the best playground in London by a country mile

DLR to Canary wharf. I am nearly 50 and I was impressed when I went last week, it feels like an episode of Blade Runner. Do a bit of shopping just to make it feel like you are doing 'something'.

Is HMS Belfast still open to the public?
