chip tuning Mini JCW (2006)
Discussion
I've heard that lohen do their own plug in bluefin remap, heard varied reviews about it though, why not get it changed on a rolling road specifically to your car by someone like 1320? That's what I'm hoping to do soon.
I'm pretty new to it all so hopefully you will get some helpful information. Minitorque is a good place to start for tuning advice but they will generally try to stear you towards a 1320 remap as they seem to get good results from there

I take it this is a Cooper S? Im fairly sure 20-30bhp gains with just a chip are going to be unrealistic. I think i read on mini torque that most guys dont even bother with chipping/remaps until they have done a host of other engine mods (reduced pulley, ic, cams, head etc) as the gains are just not there. Apparently the ECU will compensate for things like the reduced pulley and there is no need to get a remap. Your best route for an easy 20-30bhp is a reduced pulley and GRS intercooler.

It's a 2006 John Cooper Works with compressor (208 bhp).
Anyone ever tried these guys:

Looks too good to be true.

there is NO way that you will be able to 'chip tune' a stock JCW to provide 20-30bhp gains, its UN possible; its not like a turbo car where you can just 'up the boost' to get power as the supercharger is directly run from the crank, and provides a fixed boost. A smaller supercharger pulley will provide mre boost but the latest craze seems to be to stick to an 11% reduction pulley (which you have as its a works).
My advice:
Get a camshaft (newman cams are the best all round cam imo - gives massive mid range)
Get a manifold (Janspeed is the manifold the UK gents like, there are a couple decent american manifold from RMW and Mynes)
The above coupled with a remap should see you close to 250 bhp, dont map it yourself especially with sh!te. 1320mini are the best mappers in the uk for minis. I have 283bhp in mine
