OK,

Having three grown up lads living at home, one of them, who shall remain nameless, has recently found himself a new girlfriend. Now in the space of twelve months, he has been through two beds, the last one lasted six months and snapped in half a week or so ago, whilst they were "watching TV"...scratchchin

So, as I had quite a bit of old scraps of wood in my garages, I decided rather than lay out another £300, I would knock him one up, using a few rusty six inch nails....cost £00.00....and two hours hard graft.

We will see how long this heavy duty model lasts..........biggrin

What do you think?, shall I enter it for the design centre in London?.....smile

If you want to ensure the ladies wot assist in breaking the beds keep away, why not creosote it for him, to protect the wood.

Looks pretty uncomfortable to me. Beds should flex a bit - hence most are slats rather than solid tops.

Might want to get the old sander out - splinters in the wrong places could be bad. It does look sturdy though...

Please don't.

No girl I've ever had has been big enough to break beds that quickly.....

Hope your making him pay for the hard work and labour.

Good effort on the bed, needs to be more 'rustic' though, that'll put the bird off.

To see if your handiwork stood up to the abuse. Product testing you see. Boyo will appreciate it knowing that you have made sure you've built him a nice solid bed.

Like the 'decking' touch.

Are you going to reinforce the floor as well ? (that wasn't a comment against his girlfiriend BTW)
