But exactly what does it memorize?

If you built the rings with more gap (spacers) between them, then it would be finger-safe.

But then we will have arms off - One big swing from two, or three small people. One will sit inside it as "it will be fun"

Yes. But more so, its all angled to offset gyroscopic motion.. Some how the three middle disks end up spinning on latitude to its larger outers when it slows.

Still. My fingers, and now two nails hurt, and I am on my 5th Plaster. Honest!!

Maybe market it as a garden shredder? Spin it up then throw small branches at it...

John, to be honest its a dead duck. I was rather thinking on its conception some smart photo, and animation stuff, and flog it to posh garden type places. it's lovely to watch, but such a danger. In today's "no win, no fee" its going to turn up as a relic on the Antiques roadshow.

I know, my suggestion was tongue in cheek, but how about welding it up so it can't do any damage, then selling as you suggest?

Have you got a video of it in motion? Looks awesome.

That is absolutely splendid. Looks like the starship's engine from EVENTHORIZON.

You simply MUST video the thing in motion if it's to be the only one...

Don't give up on this - refine the design to make it less "amputational" - I think it will make a fantastic garden feature...

What it needs is a tiny Jodie Foster in a capsule dropping thgough the centre and you'll be able to make alien Contact.

Looks cool but I rather like my finger tips where they are. Love to see it in motion though.

Any chance of sticking it on a small box with a motor in it of some description..spinning magnets that kind of thing. Then enclose the damned thing in a plastic /glass dome. No fingers can get to it then.

how about a change of material? say 3mm light ply on a hardwood frame so you get a bruise but keep your fingers!

either that or look at making it as lightweight and well balanced as possible and then reduce the motor power so it can be stopped with less force than at present.

looks cool. make a massive one and you could sell it as an art installation for 000's. there was something similar in selfridges shop window recently.

Is there any way to turn it into some sort of risque sex toy? There must be huge demand for such things in the S&M circles.
