Well, I thought that many of you who predicted that Gordon would attempt some dirty tricks to hang onto power were getting a little carried away.

However, this really scares me...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/art...

Reminds me of the constituence boundary re-drawings; except it's so much worse given the forthcoming election.

I can think of many better ways to save £65million than by restricting democracy.

So by reducing polling station hours, you stop working people from voting and allow all the workshy doleites (which just happen to be labours core voters) to vote....

Since we are shortly going to be operating in the Politicians Socialist States of Europe, under President Blair, it doesn't matter who you vote for.

It's truly gone out the window now. So, later on today, we'll see Tony come on the rotbox, having decided to run for President.

As Gordon said earlier. "Tony is the choice for the people of Great Britain".

Unless UKIP get in, it's like electing another tier of management, IMO.

The move to 'electronic' voting also concerns me enormously. How can you ever be certain that your vote was correctly counted?

Regardless of any of their other policies I will be voting UKIP.

Erm, you cant.

Tin foil hat time, but wouldn't internet voting be run by a .gov website?

I think you know what I'm getting at.
Chaos
Un counted votes
Lost votes
Crashed websites
Multiple votes
Stolen votes
Hackers all trying to get in
The opportunity for the Gov't to make up the results

Surely they will not get away with this! is there a pettition that can be signed to show the gov that the voters would rather have the fking chance to vote them out? This is disgracefull. Some democracy eh? Also makes the UK look rather hypocritical when we went into Iraq "to give them democracy" although everyone knows that was just a massive lie as well. But for gods sake!
Unfking believeable.

A famous line from a film comes to mind.

"And so democracy dies, to the sound of raptuous applause. "

But for us its more like

"And so democracy dies, to the sound of Hmph"

Which will help Gordon to get back in. There are only two parties that can win the election. A vote for anything but Conservative is a helping hand for Gordon.

I am happy to pay £65 million to try and retain some semblence of democracry.

Given the billions this Govt has p***ed away on other things, it's a small price to pay.

Very righteous and all that, but what you are doing is helping Gordon Brown get back into power for another five years.

All that does is perpetuate the two party system and keep the staus quo.

As long as people still repeat that Mon Ami we will still get the same old st.

both main parties are exactly the same just liten to the conservatives on the question of are we having a referendum on Europe.

the whole system needs to change IMO and that will never happen with the same two parties being in in cycles

The Conservatives are in an impossible position on Europe because Brown has lied and deceived the nation over a referendum. Conservatives can't do anything about it because they aren't in power. How can we have a referendum over Lisbon when it's already up and running and we're in it? Brown lies to the nation and gives us away to Brussels and somehow some people see this as a Conservative crisis?!!

Vote anything but Conservative at the next election and you aren't perpetuating a two-party system, you are almost guaranteeing a single party system.
