Looks like that's it then. The Czechs have got what they want so nothing to stop the Lisbon Treaty going ahead.

So 65 years after Hitler failed to remove democracy from Britain Gordon Brown will have commited us to a federal Europe without having either that decision or indeed his own premiership put to a democratic vote.

What a furking disgrace.

those with a vested interest will do what ever it takes to achieve their goal of an EU government, including giving the czechs what ever they want, just so long as they sign.

As I said in the other thread, how gives a toss about what the country is called. We as people are about to get further away from democracy, decentralised government and control over our destiny.

So, how long until we join the Euro? Or it gets rattled. I assume president blair is an inevitability. In fact I'd say it was a certainty. It's all going nicely to plan.

fk the conservatives. I'm voting UKIP next election.

Blair's star is less ascendent it seems... Who knows?

The Tories will probably be relieved, saves them the fuss of a referendum and the embarrassment that would follow when we reject the treaty. CMD is as bad as the rest of them. "Our hands are tied " etc...

As for UKIP unfortunately they are not a force in a GE. No credability and a leader who is still a bit too much of a swivelled eye lunatic to appeal to most. They need a high profile Eurosceptic defector from the Tories to cross over and lead them. Hague would be good... If only AC were still alive............

Its a fking joke... Decisons as big as this with zero public discussion is a sham and a step back for democracy. No one Voted for labour so this decison could have been taken without prior consultaion/opinion. This imho is a move to make the corrupt EU personnel alot richer, more powerful and make the ordinary person less so. I hope someone assisnates blair/brown and the rest of the rabble who double fked the british public over, and less we ever forget the labour party has once again fked the british public over.

I hope US are scared by this and send a missle or two over towards brussels. I for one will support this.

Oh and I hope the s that im refering to like cars and are reading this!!!

Sure, if the UK voters were given the opportunity to vote on Lisbon, and God forbid, voted no, they would only be forced to keep voting until they came up with the right answer.

I believe that the British would vote NO so overwhelmingly that they would not ask again. That's why the political classes were so desperate that we should never have the opportunity.

I don't remember joining the EU, I do remember my parents voting in a referendum to join the EEC (?1975).

This is a new generation its time we had a vote to see if we want to stay in a place we never entered.

I certainly dislike where we are now, and the politicians assumptions that I am too stupid to know what is good for me.

Have the Tories made it clear that they will allow a Referendum vote on this?
Have the Irish not got a third vote yet?

When will the British Army storm Westminister ?

What exactly is Europe?

How does it function and who represents me? Serious questions.

Indeed.

Interesting that the Irish were basically going to keep voting until they said yes, but now that's happened there will be no chance to get out.
