Baan Thai next to Waitrose on London Road is nice. The Walnut Club on Eccleshall road (or their sister venue in Heathersage)

The Ivory is good.

23 is quite good.

Antibos is good for Italian, but not as good as Marcos mentioned above.

Baan Thai is good food.

The Old Vicarage is Michelin starred, and is worth the price.

You think? My wife has fond memories of being served a raviolo...

4 of us went sometime in July i think it was and enjoyed our night. Its not cheap, and it was our first experience of a michelin restaurant - maybe we were bedazzled!

Sorry, I was in a bit of a rush and still struggle with Sheffield places.

No excuse on the first one though, I used to live just off Sharrowvale Road and walked down Ecclesall Road every day!

I think that so long as you enjoyed it that's great. We used to live in Ridgeway but have only been once and found it not to our taste, too fussy, but then a lot of that sort of food is. We had a similar experience at Longueville Manor in Jersey, lots of people rate it but we weren't keen.

Obviously not a Sheffielder! hehe

Admiral Rodney Pub was crap last time I went. Whitley Hall Hotel is nice but not central. Loads to choose from on Ecclesall Road - Ashoka Indian is good as is the Italian Vittorias, Noodle King was great but has closed downfrown

Yup  One of my favourites biggrin As was the other one in the chain just past the roundabout as you go up the hill towards Banner Cross..

Memory of Sheffield is a bit vague banghead

Err.. Nonnas used to be great, but started to get very busy and I'd heard when they opened up the other side went downhill a little..

Sheiks on West St good for Lebanese food. Used to be a noodle bar type place under the new flats on West St. Others there were all chains of one type or another IIRC..

On London Road there was a good Japanese place Wasabisabi I think..

Cactus Cafe on erm.. Trippet Lane I think not bad for Mexican.. Trippets and Trippets 2 used to be pretty good. There was a Chinese place just down from Trippets2 - Canton Orchard perhaps? Anyway, expensive, but good. Thats about all I can remember.. Wasn't too bad, but not much thats completely spectacular..

East One Noodle Bar!

Very nice simple food (Chinese, Japanes, Thai) in a simple and funky setting! some good bars around for after too!

Is that still owned by Kamal..?

He used to start every coinversation with I tell you one thing

On his 50th birthday, a plane could be seen circling Sheffield, towing a banner that said I tell you one thing, Kamal is 50 today

hehe
