Could anyone let me know which oil they use to top-up their M5 (and where toi get it from) and what is the approx consumtption. I assume you use the auto-check function - what level do you keep it at (measured warm or cold?)?

Thanks

Dale

Cant remember the actual name (although it is Castrol something)?

All I do is wait until it gets to 0.0 and then top up with 1 litre, much easier than messing round with 0.whatever.................. wink

Consumption depends a lot on driving style etc. When I first got my M5 I was hooning it everywhere and it was a lot of small distances, needless to say it used a LOT of petrol and oil!

Now I have had it nearly a year, and a 1 month old little girl sat in the back, my petrol consumtion has gone to an average of 17.9mpg and I haven't topped the oil up for ages smilesmilesmilesmile

That reminds me, I really need to go for a spin on my own this weekend and clear out the cobwebs wink

Depending on how old the oil stock is it`s either Castrol TWS motorsport 10/60 or Castol Edge 10/60. Do NOT put anything else in the car! Opie oils is a good a place as any to buy.
