Biggest Bang for Buck (or pound...)

Here's one for all you hardened track day goers...

I'm after a track day car and have around £5k to spend.

I'd prefer a tin top.

I'm happy to do some work on it like stripping the interior etc, but nothing too hard.

It needs to be fast.

It needs to handle well.

It doesn't need to be road legal.

What car fits the bill? I'm after something with a little weight, a lot of bhp and good handling characteristics.

All suggestions very greatfully received.

check out the kit car section. you may even be able to get a blade non road legal powered 7 for that money in bike powered cars.

My R1 car is mega and a lot cheaper than people may think

If it has to be tin top and not a 7 type I'd suggest a 200SX.
