Tiptronic Box on R53 Cooper S

I am looking at buying a Supercharged Cooper S preferably a facelift 2004 model and would like to know if it was available with the tiptronic box, not the CVT.

Anybody own one and care to comment on the day to day driving experience.

99% sure that the Cooper S only came with a proper Tiptronic box. The CVT was limited to the One and Cooper models.

Yes, proper 6 speed autobox. Tiptronic gearshift, plus paddles on the steering wheel. No elastic bands like the CVT!
Really good - wife has it in auto only, I usually drive with the paddles. Smooth shifts, never seems confused by what you want it to do when it's in auto, and a nice crackle and pop on downshifts. Recommended if you are ever in any traffic regularly.

Not sure if the above people and me are thinking of the same cars as I think the box is awful and ruins the car. The r56 box is 100x better and still turns the car into something terrible.
